President Bola Tinubu joined the vibrant crowds in Kebbi State this Saturday to celebrate the 83rd Argungu International Fishing Festival. Hailing the event as a "symbol of unity and resilience," the President noted that the festival’s success proves Nigeria is becoming safer for tourism and trade.
The highlight of the day was the intense competition where thousands of fishermen dived into the Matan Fada River. Abubakar Usman emerged as the grand champion, hauling in a massive 59kg fish!
Tinubu emphasized that the peaceful atmosphere in the region is a result of deliberate security efforts, ensuring farmers and traders can work without fear. Surrounded by several state governors, the President reaffirmed his commitment to using Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage to drive national development and global tourism.
